Lars Asplund at Synective Labs will present the tool VUnit in the talk “Unit testing for VHDL – using software development praxis for FPGA development”. His talk is part of the FPGA track and will take place November 5:th at 15.30. Be there!

The interest for iterative and incremental development (IID) has increased over the last decade and has driven the development of tools, for example unit testing frameworks, to support IID. These tools have not been available outside the software community which has prevented VHDL developers from using known good practices. This presentation will show how VUnit, an open-source initiative for VHDL, closes this gap and how it adds value to both new and existing projects.
Lars Asplund is a senior developer at Synective Labs and has been an embedded system consultant for more than 15 years. His work is focused on high-performance systems using FPGAs and embedded software and he is currently working on a safety-critical vision system for the automotive industry. Lars has a special interest in ways of working and how best HW practices can be applied to SW development and vice versa.
